 Sick Bay
In our last news letter we reported on CJ's health. She originally was diagnosed with TB, however the actual diagnosis turned out to be cancer. It progressed quite rapidly. In a telephone conversation SunE1 had with her husband on November 13, 2000, he reported that although CJ has deteriorated rapidly over the past few months.. she had was having a better day. All of us in CPSG are saddened by the potential loss of this most precious soul who gave so much of herself to our group and to each of us individually. To CJ's family we sent our love and support in the form of flowers and hope that CJ was alert enough to enjoy them.
David, CJ's husband has founded a support group for children who have a friend or family member who is suffering with cancer. Please visit this site and pass it on to anyone who might benefit. The URL is: http://www.AngelDepot.org. Thank you David for giving of yourself in this way.

GROUP NEWS
Thanks for everything, Rich!
After working tirelessly for almost two years
as the Co-leader of CPSG, Rich
decided to
step down. His decision, although
a great loss for CPSG, was a good one
for his wife Patty, and daughters Krista and
Jen. We're very grateful that Rich is not leaving CPSG, just the Co-Leader position. He'll be spending his time on the most worthy of causes, His family.
Rich was the first member of CPSG back when it opened it's doors on December 8, 1998. He quickly asked 'What can I do to help?' His tireless efforts from those first days have helped to make CPSG what it is today.
Rich, our hat's are off to you for your values
and for the gift of your time you gave to
us for so long, and thank you to Patty, Krista, and Jen for sharing you with us!
New CPSG Co-Leader & Moderators
RaggedyAnne agreed to take on
the role of
CPSG Co-Leader, following Rich's
resignation.
RaggedyAnne has been part of our group since March 1999, she's encouraged us all with her drive to re-enter the workforce. She is studying to become a medical transcriber. With each obstacle, she found a way to overcome and will soon be graduating.
Even with her heavy school load, family responsibilities and living with daily pain, Annie volunteered to become a moderator. She quickly volunteered for not only one chat but to also take on the special topic of Back Pain. Her dedication to CPSG and caring for others made it easy to select her as a candidate for the vacated Co-leader position. We were all pleased that she accepted the position. Thank you Annie!!
New Moderators!! This month three members were asked and accepted to take on the role of moderator. This isn't an easy task, it takes a lot of practice to be able to keep up with our fast paced chats, welcome new members, support those who are having a bad time, and keep the chats enjoyable and fun all at the same time.
We thank, DonSims, MaggieAngel, and Peg(Pabner) for agreeing to take on these duties. Please thank them the next time you see them in chat. They & all the other moderators help us to keep CPSG a safe and fun place to receive support.

No Such Thing as a Bad Day
By: Hamilton Jordon
Personal Review: Bravo Hamilton! My husband and I read this
at the same time in a matter of days. We
are the parents of an 8 year old 'Camp Sunshine'
camper--a camp for children with cancer started
by Dorothy Jordan and referenced in the book.
His story was a wonderful history lesson
intertwined with a personal, human tale of
his 3 bouts with cancer. Couldn't put it
down!! Submitted by Kelly M.
